Thinking about giving trying knees over toes guy exercises a shot so I can try some indoor again! Nice article - most high jumpers I know of fit the mold of what you wrote.

Schwaggs! You were the highest jumper I had ever seen in my life when I first saw you c. 2008/9 and that continued! I would also add in some of the landing eccentric work as you prep- has been key for me (I want to get a sled in here somehow for that VMO burn that’s so great, too)

Hey Cody! Super useful article—thanks for putting this together.

I'm a beach volleyball player looking to get more explosive and athletic. I'm struggling to find high-quality, comprehensive online resources specific to beach volleyball.

Let's say you had two identical athletes—they're the same in every way, but one is specializing in indoor volleyball, while the other is specializing in beach volleyball. If you were designing training programs for both of them, what would be the major differences?

Hi Greg! Sure thing!

That's a great question- I would try DM-ing or asking some athletes who have transitioned because I never had a beach volleyball specific strength coach work with me. Try Theo Brunner. Or Mark Burik for resources and more.

I think the power and/or plyometric workouts and exercises in Radcliffe's book would be great for you. And let me know what you learn or take away from the Jump Science blogs!
